In 1915 Maggie Dunlap, a widow, and her sons: Charles, George, and Harold, lived in the area. Harold would one day have Dunlaps Restaurant on the southeast corner of Eldred.

Fred and Margery Schwab who had had a boarding house in Barryville, were listed as farming.
Charles and Lottie Bradley Colville and their 3 children lived in Barryville. Charles farmed. Their daughter Ruth would soon write letters to her friend McKinley Austin. Ruth had a sister Esther and a brother Leslie.
Stephen St. John Gardner, 79, was retired and lived in Barryville with his daughter Kate. Stephen’s son James K. Gardner, his wife Ella, and their daughter Edna, 24, also lived in Barryville. James K. was a merchant as was his uncle James E. Gardner.
Ira Austin was still a blacksmith in Barryville. His wife Minerva Drake and daughter Minnie were listed as doing housework.
Edward and Katie Stege were included in the 1915 Highland Census. William and Bertha Ort had 3 children: Eleanor, William, and Florence.
James and Cora Cox Clark had a daughter Sarah Clark. James Clark was a sawyer.
Joseph Meyer was one of my great grandmother Mary (Meyer) Sommer’s brothers. I believe he was born in Tafton, Pa. to Christian and Magdalena Meyer (nee Hohmann). Looking for copy of Joseph’s birth certificate to find out what towns in Germany his parents came from.
