  1. Mary A. says:

This is Barryville in flood time, seen from across the river from us.

My Dad (Rev. H.I. Briggs) went over to Shohola to take the picture across the flooded Delaware River of Baryville in flood time. The Delaware River flooded every year, some years it flooded higher than others.

It is the river road. You can see the Old Mill (look close and you can see Castoria on the building) and all the buildings along there up to the corner (which may have been the Clouses establishment) and all the other homes in the vicinity if you look.

You can even see 97 road going up the mountain! I walked past the old mill every day to the grade school from 3rd through 8th grade. (Also walked home for lunch and back again every school day!)

Also the baseball diamond is flooded!

Louise: Thanks for your comments Mom!
