I was interested in the 184o census and inclusion of the name “Daniel Schinover?” This seems to be an incorrect spelling of Schoonover and could be a reference to O.P.’s father. What do you think?
It does seem like that is another spelling of Schoonover. It might answer why Daniel was Rowlee’s first name.
I was under the impression that O.P.’s father was Peter, referred to as Uncle Peter by the Eldred-Austin cousins, I think.
There may also have been another Schoonover family in the area.—Louise.
